God is just a whisper in the wind.
When The Sun Goes Down
May 24, 2008.
When the sun goes down at night
And the dark clouds drive away the light
And the hot summer rain comes down like tears
To wash away the wasted years
That I spent loving you
When the lightning flashes across the sky
And a bent palm tree sways and creaks nearby
As the winds begin to blow
You were only sixteen but baby don’t you know
My love was always true?
When I sit down I hear the thunder clap
And it brings to mind the horrible slap
You gave me baby when you told me
I didn’t love you, I was just crazy
And I broke down and cried
Now the stormy clouds have passed on by
And I sit here under the cold, dark sky
My head in my hands, my heart filled with pain
Tears falling down my cheeks like the summer rain
Baby that night I could have just died.
