Mikayla Lewis

I am Mikayla Lewis, my friends call me MK. I am from Wichita, KS and have had a passion for music since the day I was born. I started writing songs and recording them on my tape boom box when I was six years old, and ever since I haven't given up. Being 20, I am attending college, majoring in Broadcast Journalism but with hopes to pursue music full time someday. I taught myself to play the guitar when I was in 8th grade, so that I could start putting music to my lyrics. I love all music, I think we can take something from everything. My musical inspirations are U2, Sting, Sheryl Crow, Jewel, Big and Rich, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Third Eye Blind, Jack Johnson, Train, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Justin Timberlake, Timberland, Imogen Heap, Coldplay and Nelly Furtado, along with many others. People say I sound like different singers like Norah Jones, Sheryl Crow and Michelle Branch, but ultimately I am me.
