I love the outdoors. I love to go out and shoot every living thing I see (with a camera, of course). I spend a lot of time hiking, usually up on Signal Mountain on the Cumberland Trail. I've hiked all 38 miles of the Tennessee River Gorge Segment. I've hiked in Savage Gulf, Bowater, Cloudland Canyon, Fall Creek Falls, and various other nearby wilderness areas.
During the summer I spend much of my free time at a place called Rainbow Falls. It's a beautiful waterfall on Middle Creek on Signal Mountain. It's difficult to get to, so I usually have the place all to myself.I also engage in the adventure sport of Geocaching (www.geocaching.com). It's a really fun hightech game of hide and seek played using the Global Positioning System. OK, you're right. It is really nerdy and dorky, but it's still pretty fun.
I rarely go out to bars. I get enough of that at work. I can't stand Hip Hop, and most of what passes for Rock and Roll in today's market. I listen mainly to country and classical when I listen to music at all. I was a musician earlier in my life. I play piano, and a little guitar (no, not a ukelele).
My TV habits consist of news, documentaries, and movies (action and sci-fi flicks). I am able to enjoy an occasional "chick flick" as long as there is the promise of sex after the movie (or at least a backrub).

I already discussed my music interests in the "Interests" section, but I'll add to my comments here. Since I work in the industry, and was myself a musician in earlier years, I have a rather unique perspective when it comes to music. I don't listen to much. I get more than enough music at work.
I like the symphony. I like country music. I like music where there's not a lot of angry screaming and shouting. I like music with a melody. I like lyrics that tell a story.
You'll never get me out to a dance club or a live music bar unless I'm being paid (and paid handsomely) to be there. The symphony, or an acoustic act, or kareoke I can handle. 311 and COG, forget it.
Action Flicks, Sci-Fi, and animated children's movies do it for me. Shrek Rules!!! There are a few chick-flicks that I like, too. Forest Gump is one of my favorite movies of all time. There's a French movie (I can't remember the name) that I like. It's the one that Travelocity stole the whole "roaming gnome" idea from. If it's got explosions, gunfire, spaceships, aliens, or Puss in Boots in it, I'm likely to watch it. Did I mention that Spats is a dead ringer for Puss?
I'm a news junkie. I keep the TV tuned to Fox News 24/7. I like The History Channel, Discovery Channel, TLC, Court TV, Comedy Central, FX, AMC, HBO, Showtime, etc.
Fiction: I like Tom Clancy, Dale Brown, Michael Dimercurio, Harold Coyle, Stephen Coonts, and anyone who writes a good military techno-thriller.
Non Fiction: My favorite book of all time is The Federalist Papers by Jay, Madison, and Hamilton. It should be required reading for every person in the US. I also like, Hannity, Coulter, Morris, Boortz, Aldridge, Ingraham, and a host of other authors on the political right.
Every young man or woman that enlists in the armed services is a hero. Anyone who makes a choice to do the right thing is a hero. People who finish school and get a decent job and raise their kids to do the right thing are heros. People who find a wallet and turn it in without stealing the cash from it first are heros. People who yield the left lane to faster drivers are heros.
