Background from Yahoo search resultGYPSY is a very versatile three piece band fronted by a powerful Lead Singer named Lori Matusz-Tibbitts. Lori started GYPSY at the end of 1990 with her ex-husband Dave (who recently left the band). GYPSY has seen many bars open and close...many faces come and go (and always come back, some years later)...and has changed music style, songs and members many times through the years. But each 'phase' of the band is a fun and educating experience. GYPSY started out in the early 90's as a powerful Rock/Blues trio with a female lead singer and has recently returned to similar roots. During the years, the band has gained and lost a few keyboardists, but still managed to create a full sound either way. Lori has picked up some experience playing keys, but prefers to entertain as the front woman. She is a very personable entertainer/singer. GYPSY is thought by some people to be a 'FLEETWOOD MAC or STEVIE NICKS TRIBUTE' band even though they have only performed the 'STEVIE/MAC TRIBUTE' a handful of times. The band continues to grow musically and so does Lori. Recently, GYPSY added a powerful Lead Guitarist named Blue Steve Martin. Steve has a very unique way of making that guitar sing out beautiful chords/sounds. Steve played for many years along side of the legendary Robert Lockwood, Jr. Steve is an incredible guitar player. He sings very well, too. Lori and Steve's harmonies blend together so well creating a new sound all their own. Lori can sound like any artist that she sings, but still manages to put her own flavor and style into the music. Steve creates the blues/country sound with his deep bass voice much like Johnny Cash, but manages to 'hit' the higher Joe Cocker notes, too. Next, you can tell how much Rick Fischer loves to play his drums when you are listening to his steady rock beat and smooth blues swing. Rick says that he JUST WANTS TO PLAY AS MUCH AS HE CAN and that is the philosophy that Lori (GYPSY) plans to follow. Bill Mangano is a seasoned Bassist with a solid and clean sound. Bill is very creative with his fancy patterns and sounds. He has been playing an instrument since he was nine years old. Rick and Bill together make a real solid rhythm section that stands along with the 'cream of the crop' in Cleveland. GYPSY performs many rock, blues, dance and country favorites. Through the years, it is not uncommon to see three generations of one family together in a room all enjoying the sounds of GYPSY.
