Right at the end of December last year I canceled my MySpace account. I was feeling a little too connected and a little too accountable; I was having an intense case of "I can't wake up every day and find the same me." Now I'm cleaning up my MS page along with the rest of my life. I'm fighting PORK. This page is for friends only; friends being people I can/do actually speak to in real time, whose wellbeing is important to me and to whom, presumably, my wellbeing is at least of some interest.So... me... I'm currently working on my undergraduate dsegree in psychology, and my intent is to go into animal behavior. This means I'll be going for a master's in: comparative psych., evolutionary psych., biopsych, behavioral neuroscience, or perhaps psych. at Hunter where there is a program that includes a certificate in animal behavior and conservation. Basically, I'm finishing my undergrad and getting out of Albany.People often ask me what I'll actually be doing day-to-day when I'm done with school. The fact is that I'm going into a fairly broad field. The pictures in my background are meant to provide insight into some of the aspects of psychology that interest me and some of the ways in which psychology is relevant to what I actually want to do. The majority of my income will probably come from dog training, which is really all about the psychology of learning (classical and operant conditioning). I want to work with shelters and rescues on temperment testing and treatment protocols to make dogs more adoptable, as well as adopter-adoptee matching and incentive programs to get new adopters into training and help them become better dog owners. I also want to do some lobbying for animal welfare legislation (inforcement in particular is pathetic). With the rest of my time, I'll be fighting for grants to do field research with wildlife.Other than that...I'm a bit of a doormat, but I can be oversensative. I have a problem with follow-through... and decision-making. I care too much on too little sleep, and sometimes I speak in song lyrics. And, believe it or not, I really prefer minimalist profiles.
