It was a cold February morning and Rob was taking his wee doggy for a walk. His previous band had split up leaving him with plenty of ideas but no one to play with. A new job at Booths in March 2006 led him to meet Alex and soon they started jamming regularly working on Rob’s ideas and developing their own new style. A young Oggy started on the butchers counter, tapping on everything in sight and after confirming him as the bands drummer Rob asked his younger brother Anthony to play bass, the band was born as Brainsaw. Weekly practices at the infamous Sawmill in Blackpool soon got the band up to speed and playing a repertoire of heavy yet melodic originals. A few singers came and went but none really put a definite stamp on the band.Anthony parted from the band in March 2007 leaving the band a 3 piece. After a low few months practicing weekly with no singer or bassist the trio saw the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel. In April 2007, whilst practicing at the Sawmill they spotted the man giant Dave practicing in the next room. He was singer and rhythm guitarist for Chainmachine, heard that Brainsaw were looking for a bassist and singer and offered his services to complete the line up.The introduction of Dave into the band killed 2 birds with one stone and he took up bass and lead singer duties, with Rob on backing after filling in as singer whilst they searched for the right man for the job. To compliment the new line up came a change of rehearsal room, with the band moving to Space studios in Blackpool where there were more light bulbs than you could shake a stick at, a toilet with a water supply and gear that hadn’t already died 3 times. Added to the originals, now complete with full vocals were a number of covers. After months of blood, sweat and tears the band was reborn as Servosi and recorded their first demo at the studios. The next Servosi chapter begins with the introduction of Dave and Alex's new compositions for the band. With 2 new writing styles the band is developing into a well rounded metal band with potential. The lads are also developing their own talents and styles. Robs writing and composition breathes metal originality, Alex’s wizardry for intricate riffs and scorching solos is inspired, Dave churns out smart lyrics and riffs for albums worth of songs, not to mention thumping melodies and bass lines, and Oggy, well Oggy is the backbone to the servosi sound. With his awsome fills and quick footwork he envelopes emotive and powerful drumming in one package. Oh and he also keeps on hitting everything in sight louder and harder than anyone else.Servosi may be the new kids on the block but bring their previous experience from other projects. Hard work and patience are testament that they are in this business for the music, and for the development a new generation of British metal, true to its roots with power and integrity...
