Some people think its hanging on that makes one strong; sometimes it's letting go

About Me

ABOUT ME: I'm a friendly chic who loves most people. I eloquently speak my mind and hardly ever hold back. I may be bi-polar, but aren't we all? While I prefer a balanced life between work and play, I will always find time to play. My friends may call me demanding, but I prefer assertive.I don't like followers or positively aggreeable people. I enjoy a good debate...especially when I'm proved wrong. I dislike arguing, but love banter. People often get those confused. I despise hearing "I know how you feel" because people who say that (in certain contexts) are full of shit. Sympathy is synonymous with pity. Empathy is best expressed in silence. I will rise above all challenges, and don't want anyone's sympathy or empathy. Compassion is generally appreciated.I'm open to new ideas, don't believe in organized religion, (or the idea of politics), and would rather falsely admit to being mistaken than get in a yelling match or "dick sizing" contest. I'm vain about my intellect because I've worked hard at obtaining it. I consider myself a wordologist, but don't know if that is even a word. I love it when I accidentally invent a word in conversation that makes sense. I live for embarrassing moments...they breed fun stories. I only repeat the instances if they are at my "expense", but that expression doesn't fit my ideals because I don't find those moments disabling.I find solace in truths, therefore, when I realize I don't know much about a topic, I research it to expand my mind. Knowledge is power, yet I'm not craving power...moreso thirsty to broaden my intelligence. While I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others, I'm far too impatient to be an educator. "THEY" say ignorance is bliss, but I say ignorance is inexcusable (considering our vast resources).I'd rather be in the sun than in the shade. Acknowledging the bright side is more rewarding than dwelling in the dark. Since I prefer natural light to artificial and solar wind to air conditioning, being indoors for too long can get me down.I feel that positivity breeds productivity, so I strive to be positively productive. AND to ALWAYS SMILE...even WHEN I'm DOWN...it's contagious.

My Interests

INTERESTS: I'm mostly interested in learning new things. Anyday I don't learn something new is considered a wasted day. My "core" interests include dancing, music, basketball, writing, music, poetry, music, reading, being outdoors and more dancing....did I mention music??????

I'd like to meet:

WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET: no one in particular, but I hope to meet anyone who is open-minded, adventurous, and honest. I detest liars and thieves, but I like meeting new people so don't be scrrd...Intimidation is a front for insecurity. A piece of advice, though: If you send me an add request, and expect me to accept it, send me a message too. My pet peive on MySpace is add requests from strangers who don't take the time to tell me what they liked about me...FYI, "I think you're hot!" does nothing for me. I don't need to have 5000 friends to feel special. I feel special everyday with or without myspace. Don't be afraid to hit me up though...My bark is bigger than my bite.

Music:

MUSIC: Music makes my world spin, and can/will change my mood instantaneously. Thanks to all musicians for sharing your art...you make living in this world bearable. Some of my favorite artists include; Ani DiFranco, Sublime, Tori Amos, Incubus, Dave Matthews BAND, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Poe, Jewel, Mazzy Star, Jane's Addiction, Rage Against the Machine, Nine Inch Nails, Toadies, Madonna, Michael Jackson (in the 80's/early 90's), Janet Jackson, Depeche Mode, Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, Weezer, Nirvana, Bjork, Nelly Furtado, Rob Zombie, Korn, Linkin Park (even though they whine a lot), Paul Van Dyk, Simply Jeff, Icey, DJ Dan, "Superstar" DJ Keoki, Robert Miles, Carl Cox, Terry Mullen, Charles Feelgood, Bassment JAXX, Dee LITE, Superstar DJ Dimitri, Run DMC & Jam Master J (R.I.P), De La Soul, Digital Underground, Outkast, Cypress Hill, Missy Elliot, Eminem, JAY-Z, Notorious B.I.G. (R.I.P), Crystal Method, Prodigy, Butthole Surfers, Insane CLOWN posse (slightly irritating, but incredibly humorous/real...well once you wash their faces), Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Audioslave, and MANY MORE! I recently discovered Cheyenne Kimball, a 16 year-old from Dallas with incredible talent for her age...she's totally impressive.

Movies:

MOVIES: In no particular order: Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, The Breakfast Club, Cry Baby, Dazed and Confused, Super Troopers, Magnolia, Gia, Natural Born Killers, From Dusk Til Dawn, Gone in 60 seconds, Pelican Brief, Conspiracy Theory, Enemy of the State, 40 Year Old Virgin, Double Jeopardy, The Other Sister, Mermaids, Beetlejuice, Overboard, Mrs. Doubtfire, Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing, Point Break, Point of No Return, Casino, Scarface, Happy Gilmore, 50 First Dates, Saturday Night Fever, Groove, Transporter, Boone Dock Saints, Wonderland, Fight Club, The Dark Crystal, Harry Potter series, Fantasia 2000, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Lost Boys, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Bad Boys 2, The Matrix, UP in SMOKE, The Usual Suspects, The Lion King, Sliver, Face/Off, Armageddon, Good Will Hunting, The Bourne Identity (although the book was better) The Firm (again, the book was better), , Steel Magnolias, Top Gun, What a Girl Wants, As Good As it Gets, The Game, Disclosure, Stepmom, Erin Brokovich, Nottinghill, and the list goes on, and on and on. I love movies!!!!

Television:

TELEVISION: To be honest, I'm not a big fan of TV. If I do watch tv it's usually The BOONDOCKS, Family Guy, Friends, Ali G Show, Rescue Me, Chappelle Show, Simpsons, 24...anything comedic really. I also watch DIRT on FX cuz it's wicked and some drama is good for tv.

Books:

BOOKS: I'll pick up any book with intentions to read it, but the likelihood of my completing it is slim...unless it's assigned for school, that is. My favorite type of books pertain to astrology, numerology, or poetry. I adore anything by Brian Froud. I just finished reading The Ex-Factor, by Andrea Semple. It was absolutely hysterical...I finished it in 3 days.

Heroes:

HEROES: Janis Joplin. Bob Marley. Jimi Hendrix. Jim Morrison. WAIT...they have all moved on from this life...Ani DiFranco is amazing...all spoken word artists. anyone who goes against the odds to honestly obtain their desires. Anna Akhmatova. Pablo Neruda. Edgar Allen Poe. Emily Dickenson. Tori Amos. Janet Jackson. Matt Groenig. Quentin Tarantino. Mary Shelley. Martin Scorcese. Tim Burton. Robert Ludlum. Martin Luther King, Jr.
