About Me

My page is mainly being used for learning about new bands, downloading music, etc. I am NOT looking for anyone to date. So please stop sending me messages about that kind of stuff. I won't respond to them. Here's a brief update, with more updates to follow later. I completed both an undergraduate and a graduate degree program at Arizona State University in Biology and Plant Sciences. I've worked for the U.S. Forest Service, and to be more specific, I worked for the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. I've also worked for the Maricopa Community College District and for the Apache and Navajo County colleges. My goal is to eventually get a full time position at a university in Oregon. I hope to eventually move back to Oregon. But if that doesn't work out, Arizona is a good place to be, too. I've enjoyed living here in exile from Oregon. Here's Scampers...This is a sign in the weird little town of Eagar, Arizona. I couldn't pass up taking a picture of this when I saw it. They obviously meant some other Jeff, but I like to pretend they were talking about me.I love hiking! Here's a picture of one of my favorite hiking areas, around Crater Lake, Oregon...Here's a pic from one of the many areas along Highway 87 in northern Arizona, which have many great hiking areas...And in eastern Arizona, near Hannagan Meadows, it looks like this...I also take advantage of the many local desert hiking trails in the Phoenix mountain preserves because I can simply walk to the nearest trailhead from my apartment...And along the Arizona Canal, which runs east and west through the heart of the city, and makes a great pedestrian and bike path because cars can't get on it...

What’s your favorite radio station?

One thing I really miss when I'm in Eagar is the ability to listen to my tunes on a decent local radio station.  But fortunately for me, my favorite local Phoenix radio station lets me liste...

First Frost in Eagar!

I woke up this morning to get ready for some things I have to do, bright and early, and what did I notice on the grass outside?  That's right!  Frost!  Yay!  Fall has fin...

What does "Heavy Into Jeff" mean?

Some of my "friends" have been asking me that question.  It's the name of a defunct band that I liked when I was a kid, and I still like their songs.  You've probably never heard of the...

Death

Recently events involving family members have made me turn my thinking to mortality and death, and at first I was thinking how unfair and cruel life seems to be at times, and then one of my former co...

We had to come back early

My buddy Jimmy and I had to come back early from our camping trip on Escudilla Mountain.  We got rained on so heavily that our little tent got destroyed and all of our clothes got soaking wet.&nb...

I'm going on a two week camping trip into the forests south of Eagar.  When I get back, I have to pack up all of my stuff and move back to Phoenix for a job which starts up in mid-August.  L...
