Also well known as 'Spaz', a fictional character created by Steven for the TV show 'It's Spaz' which successfully aired on FOX8 around 2001+.
As you all know, Steven Spates is well renowned for his creative imagination & eclectic array of charismatic, comedic characters, each character continually evolving into more of what they already are.
Steven Spates is The Dean and creator of the fictional 'Weedville State University' as well as many characters that appear on the many videos & TV shows produced over the past few years.
Being just one of Steven’s massive fan base, I’ve created this page to share with you all so you can also get to know more about the man behind the characters, and also to get to know more about Steven's versatility as a character actor, comic, host, journalist, writer - and more.
Steven hosted a tourism show called 'Around PA' that later became known as 'KeystoneXtra' which successfully aired on Fox8 from 2004 to 2006. Some snippets from this series are posted on this page for your enjoyment.
Executive producer Sam Ettaro and Steven traveled around the state of PA and had an incredible time in doing so. Steven took great pleasure in interviewing the likes of Evel Knievel, Michael Keaton and the Band members from Jethro Tull, the Governor of Pennsylvania, Ed Rendell & many more celebrities & fascinating people.
One of the highlights for during that period was covering Ground Hog Day in 2004 and 2005, holding Punxy Phil and interviewing Bill Dealey, Punxy Phil's handler. Steven also had the pleasure of working with Sam Ettaro on the documentary 'The Life and Times of Punxsutawney Phil' which aired in a number of markets including P.B.S. Pittsburgh and L.A. The documentary was written & narrated by Sam who did a fabulous job and was the only project endorsed by The Inner Circle Groundhog Club. Steven's role was assisting in laying down the story line and voice over during of the film.
Prolific in creating new characters & storylines, Steven is also continuing to developing those already established which are centered around 'Weedville State University'. As you already know, Steven is about ‘playing politics’ ~ he has a high regard & respect for everyone's views... he'd just prefer to shut up and sing!!! LOL!!!
