Recognized as a very original composer and pianist, he works in the areas of avant-garde music and jazz. Lelo has joined the PAU BRASIL group, touring Europe and United States several times, recording three albums, and having won the Sharp Prize (Best Instrumental Group) of 1996 with the CD "Babel", which also obtained an indication to the Grammy in 1998 in the Jazz category. He has worked with great names of the Brazilian instrumental music and jazz, as Hermeto Pascoal, Toninho Carrasqueira, Roberto Sion, Paulo Bellinati, John Scofield, among many others. He has also led the legendary Grupo Um, one of the first ensembles to put together traditional Brazilian style and contemporary music, performing in the 70’s and 80’s. With Grupo Um, released three albums: "Marcha sobre a cidade" (1979)", "Reflexões sobre a crise do desejo†(1981) and "A flor de plástico incinerada†(1983). With Pau Brasil, he recorded “Lá vem a tribo†(GHA, Brussels), “Metrópolis tropical†(Divina Comédia, Paris), “Babel" (Pau Brasil label, São Paulo, and Blue Jackel, New York), as well as "Pau Brasil & Hermeto Pascoal†(Tom Brasil, São Paulo). With the same group, he wrote the music (in collaboration with other composers) for the "Opera dos 500" in 1992, an opera sponsored by the city of São Paulo to celebrate the 500 years of the discovery of America. NAZARIO has written avant-garde works and music for different formations, including music for piano, ensembles and orchestras, as well as electroacoustic, film and dance music. In 1989, he formed the Duo Nazario with the drummer Zé Eduardo Nazario, and for that formation, he wrote "Limite" and "Aurora", works sponsored by the Symphony Band of the State of São Paulo, and performed in Brazil and abroad (8th. WASBE Conference, Austria, 1997). He also recorded solo albums: "Lagrima/Sursolide Suite", "Discurso aos objetos" (electroacoustic music), "Se...", "Simples" and “AFRICASIAMERICA“....................................... ................................................
