Hello! My name is Cathy and I live here in the lovely city of Dearborn Heights! I have an awesome job and work with awesome people! Jesus is my life and my church is my home! Faith Baptist Church rocks! I work in the student ministry with teenagers who are AH-MAZING!! They really are the best kids on this earth and I love them with all my heart! I spend most of my time with them....they are my kids! We've done all kinds of fun and crazy things. A few of my favorite memories of course include camp. Chautauqua (with the exception of K.P), LIFT at Cedarville(with the amazing Dan Brown "Didn't ask you to talk") and of course winter camp in Rose City (It's always 90 degrees in our cabin)! Then there's Shepherd's Home....(Dani, get off my mattress so I can go to sleep! Girls just wanna have fun! I dare you to go out in the lobby with the gel mask on! I'm going to pee my pants and Steve won't stop the van) One of the most AWESOME trips we have taken has been a Missions Trip to the Navajo Nation. First we were in Las Vegas (This really IS sin city!! Jack LeLane where ever you are I love your juicer! Oh no, the boys did NOT break that door knob) Then we stopped at the Grand Canyon on the way to the Navajo Reservation. My first time there and yes I cried!!! It literally took my breath away! Finally, after driving all night and dodging livestock on the road we arrive! What an experience! God moved through that place. Kids and adults were saved, we were blessed and our lives were changed. Lukachukai will forever be in my heart and I will always have a love for the Navajo Indians. I WILL return to that very place one day! Three years have passed and we have gone and returned from another missions trip. This time it was Monterrey Mexico. A completely different country and a completely different experience. God is truly wonderful and He is alive and working in Mexico. I have never worked so hard or sweat so much in my life! Oh man, will we ever mix all that cement? We got to see a lot of the beautiful places in Mexico but what I loved most was the people: 1) The missionaries who serve with their lives so the people can know Jesus. They are just awesome people to know and have added to my life in ways I cannot describe. 2) The people of the church who are so awesome. They loved us and welcomed us in as if we were their own family. They have such open hearts to serve Jesus. I want to be just like them!
Again, kids and adults trusted in Christ and lives were changed forever. What a life-changing trip. Can I get an AMEN?!
