(Angela Bachmair) ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- Born in 1987 (Zagreb, Croatia) Iva Nezic is a young Croatian musician with an extraordinary natural endowment for classical guitar. Iva first started playing guitar at the age of 6. In 1994 she commenced her classical guitar studies at the "Elly Basic" School of Music in Zagreb under Prof. Ante Cagalj where she duly continued studying until 2004 when, Iva received an invitation to study with renowned classical guitarist Prof. Franz Halasz at the "Musikhochschule Augsburg/Nürnberg". In 2008 Iva completed her "Diplomprüfung im Hauptfach Gitarre", with a 1,0 grade, where she continues to further her study today. Performing in public since a very young age, including for Croatian Radio and Television, Iva has attended many guitar festivals and competitions in recent years. Having won croatian regional competions in 1999, 2001 and 2003 respectfully, she also has enjoyed success at both National level, 39th(2001 Second prize) & 41st(2003 Third prize) “Hrvatsko natjecanje uèenika i studenata glazbe- Dubrovnik” and at International level, in 2001 winning First Prize at the "Medjunarodni festival Guitar Art" in Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro, "Diploma de Finalista" at "XXII Certamen Andrés Segovia Almuñecar" La Herradura, Spain, 3rd Prize and "Premio del Publico" at the "VIII Concurso Internacional de Guitarra Clasica Comarca el Condado" (April 2008) and the 2nd prize at "III Concurso Internacional de Guitarra Valle de Egues (Mai 2008). One of her most significant international successes is wining the First Prize at the "XIV Concurso Internacional de Guitarra Andrés Segovia" (Spain, November 2007).
