SUBSTANCE is a brand new club night in Dublin that aims to bridge the gap between punk and disco, soul boys and indie slackers, Saturday Night Fever and 24 Hour Party People (with a sly nod to Performance, Tommy and Get Carter at the same time) . Eclectic music for rock fans who aren't adverse to busting a move as a therapeutic release at the end of the working week. SUBSTANCE aims are to be populist whist still steering away from the hapless nostalgia of school disco nights or the monotomy of mind numbing indie-bingo. Bringing you a eurphoic mix of great tunes old and new, leaving dancefloor rug-cutters in the much desirable state commonly known as 'club happy'.To launch this fantastic venture SUBSTANCE are running a number of great nights at RADIO CITY, Store Street, Dublin 1 in conjuction with Dublin three piece tune smiths STRAGLERS who following on from the release of their debut single 'Commanders' are releasing their shining debut album 'The Kids are Deranged' in May of this year.Starting on February 29th (It's a leap year!) SUBSTANCE will begin with a fantastic live performance from Straglers and a great eclectic set from DJ Simon. Look out for great upcoming sets from Richer Than Astronauts, along with Dj Badger vs Dj Heinze, the return of The Ginger Boys and everyone's festival favourite; Dj Camps*ite.So make sure to mark down February 29th, March 28th and April 25th in your diary as SUBSTANCE nights.
