Waiting...
Waiting is not easy but it’s something a lot of us must do…
Our spouses are at war with the hopes of returning home soon.
Many of us will wait for the day the bus arrives…
But some will hear the news that our spouse is no longer alive.
Keeping them in our prayers and holding our heads up high…
So many will sit and wait and act as though everything is fine.
We will hide our tears from others and wear a smile each day…
We fell in love with a hero and this is the price we must pay.
Many will give their support though a lot will disagree with war…
For they have lost sight of what we are actually fighting for.
Our young men and women will put their life on the line…
But yet those who disagree will always run and hide.
They will never understand or feel the pain that we endure…
As a wife, a mother, or a daughter going thru this war.
As we receive late night phone calls, e-mails and letters…
You sit in your homes thinking your life is better.
We don’t drive fancy car and we can’t afford nice things in life…
But I will hold my head up high cause I’m proud to be a Marines wife.
