Francesca Han

Jazz pianist Francesca Han was raised in Korea and started piano lessons at age 4. She graduated from Kwandong University with a major in classical piano and attended the Seoul Jazz Academy while freelancing and lecturing. She came to New York in 2004 and earned a master’s degree in jazz performance from Queens College in 2007. She has performed at Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the 92nd Street Y, Café Vivaldi, Garage, and numerous other clubs throughout the New York metropolitan region. Her performance with the quartet Jayu at Jamaica Center in November 2008 was featured in the New York Daily News. Recent performances in Korea have included appearances at Seoul’s most notable venues, including Janus, Evans, and Blue Note Seoul. Her trio has been featured on broadcast performances on the MBC and KBS networks in Korea. Her first album is scheduled for release by MM Records Group in March 2009.
