About Me

Life is exhausting, but grand. On September 1, 2008 I celebrated my first wedding anniversary to Marney...my lovely and perfect wife. On October 29, our son Henry was born. He started 8lb and 22oz and has already passed the 15lb mark at less than 12 weeks. I believe the term is "good eater." He is quite a handful, but that doesn't stop us from loving him completely. He has brought joy to our lives, even while subtracting our sleep.I never had big dreams. In fact, I thought they were relatively simple: a family and a house (with an attached 2-car garage). Simple as those dreams were, it still seems to have taken quite a while (and a lot of work) to achieve. Looking back I can say without hesitation, "totally worth it."

"Hi Daddy!"

It's been a week since I got my first legitimate "Hi Daddy" smile from my son.  After so many "I've got gas" smiles, it was easy to tell the difference.    I've had a dozen since then and each one giv...

What a week...

Henry was born on Wednesday, Oct 29th and Barack Obama won the election on Tuesday, Nov 4th.  I think it's safe to say my world will never be the same...and that thought make me smile! Kudos to J...

Taking back Ohio

Maybe God doesn't hate the Democrats after all.  Today, The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Ohio's Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner and threw out the lawsuit brought by the state's GOP. In a p...

Serious health care for serious people

If I knew nothing else about the candidates, their health care plans alone would be enough to decide my vote.  Our current health insurance costs $12000 per year, which Marney's employer pays in ...

I’m going to make applesauce

For the love of Mike, would someone please answer a direct question?  John McCain was asked, "Are you going to attend the debates on Friday?"  He responded, "I'm going to do what's best for ...

Kudos to the news!

Like (I hope) many Americans, I have been watching daily election coverage on many different news sources.  I'm happy to note that the media seems to finally be doing their jobs by call...

Jealousy rears it’s ugly, Republican head

Barack Obama is now being criticized for raising 9 million dollars at a fund raiser hosted by Barbara Streisand.  Gov. Pawlenty got into the mix this morning on NBC, saying that Obama has lo...

So tired of being lied to.

I saw Gov. Palin's speech last night and thought she did a very good job.  She is by far one of the better public speakers in the Republican Party right now.  While that's all well and good,...

One for the road...

Ok, one more political rant...then I'm done (for the day). Here's my problem with anyone attacking Barack Obama on oil company taxes, and/or gas prices: Gas was $1.69 a gallon in the fall of 2001.&nbs...

Economic Disaster

My fellow Lansingers, Michiganders, and Americans: You've undoubtedly seen a recent John McCain add calling Barack Obama  a celebrity and threatening that his administration would be an econ...
