The more I think about it, the more I realize I'm like a grown-up version of Charlie Brown . . .

About Me

.. .. ..Brendan is . . . .. .. ..

Brendan Jordan:

"Born in a barrelfull of butcher knives and raised on knuckle sandwiches."

- Dan Springer

There has been a lot of rumor and conjecture as to the origin and personage of Brendan Jordan.

I, being Brendan Jordan himself, feel I should use this opportunity to set the record straight as best I can:

I suppose, if you're to fully understand who I am, I should tell you that I come from a large, Irish Catholic family. My parents had six children, out of these I am the penultimate. I was introduced into the world on the day after Christmas in 1976. Ever since that crisply cold and fateful afternoon I've been doing my best to find out what exactly it is I'm supposed to accomplish while I am here among you. So far, I'm an uncle to 6 nieces and 5 nephews; this is a charge I am particularly fond of.

I've been assured by a few, possibly tone deaf, people that my singing voice would melt the coldest of the cold and bitterly frozen hearts. Some have even suggested that I might start a musical group, though I've been down that road before and I don't think it is meant for the likes of me. I've also occasionally taken to creating posters for some bands of the Rock and Roll genre. You can click here to see these posters .
One of my works is included in the juggernaut poster anthology, Art of Modern Rock , which was published in December 2004. I also have an illustration published in the Frank Kozik organized source book, Panda Meat , which was released in June 2005. You should all purchase at least two of each.

In short: I don't care what you think of me. Why would I? Though perhaps you could find it within yourself to accept me for who I am, and I promise I'll do the same when it comes to you.

Who knows anymore . . . lots of stuff.

Movies:

I enjoy entertainment.

Books:

Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, Ulysses, Catcher In The Rye, Slaughterhouse Five, Notes From Underground, Crying of Lot 49, The Great Gatsby, various novels by Don DeLillo, I'm currently rereading the short fiction of Flannery O'Connor.

Heroes:

Hero is a strong word. It should not be used to describe some pop movie or music star you really like. If you do that you're probably misusing the word or you're simply misguided. Of course I would consider my parents heroes (and I understand not everybody can say that about their folks). Now, in a casual sense I have musical "heroes," "heroes" of literature, and other various less than heroic idols, but in reality, I respect those in my real life who deserve respect, and in general I guess those are my heroes.
