About Me

I'm an artist and a martial artist. Art school killed my joy for making art; it took me 15 years to get back to a place where I can do it again. In the interim, I've discovered a love for the Martial Arts, focusing these days on T'ai Chi Ch'uan and Ba Gua Chang. Music is the muse for my art, but I also geek out on movies, geology & paleontology, hermetic and forensic imagery, and camping. I live with one human male, one cat, three snakes, a blue-tongue skink, and a tarantula. I design books to help keep a roof over our heads. I also love painting on human skin (makeup) when I can find the time and the right occasion.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Artists who make music, paintings, drawings, writings, and performances. Relatively well-adjusted freaks, free thinkers, yetisyn. Readers. Skeptics interested in human and non-human consciousness.

My Blog

I'm glad 2007 is over. That year saw many drastic changes in my life, and in the lives of many around me. Some changes were for the better, some were simply painful and difficult. So I'm hoping that 20...

Update time

Once again, I've really dropped off in my posts. Part of it is that I didn't want to post until I had something new to say. And then too much happened at once, and I was a little overwhelmed. But like...

Yeah, two in one day...

...but I haven't posted in awhile. I've been really busy with my new jobs. I've realized that like any other jobs I've had, it takes a few months at least to get into the groove, to feel like you know...

A bit of a slow start, but no big deal

So I went to the space where I plan to teach T'ai Chi three times a week, for my first official class. So far, nobody showed up. Except for a maintenance guy.Eh, don't worryI'm not really surprised. ...

Eastern Promises review

This last Wednesday evening, I went to see the new David Cronenberg movie, Eastern Promises, with a couple friends. We are all fans off Cronenberg's work, even his last few films, which are subtler an...

Yes, it was METAL

Just saw the new episode from season 2 of Metalocalypse. And it was BRUTAL. It didn't blow me away quite as much as the Venture Bros. season 2 premier, but I really enjoyed it. Pelvic Thrust Mace Belt...
