Raised in VA, 25 year old Black-K picked up the pen at age 17 and never put it down. He teamed up wit three of the illest lyricists and is now 1/4 of Double Ya Bet. In addition to being part of a seasoned group of lyricists, Black-K is also pursuing his dreams of entreprenuership. He is in the beginning stages of founding his record label BLACK FIST ENTERTAINMENT, to which he will be his first artist. He has stated "I want to be Michael Jordan and play for the team I own."Using his life experiences and enviroment as motivation and subject matter, Black-K paints vivid pictures in his music. Culturally sounded by the likes of Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, and soul his sound has mystic originality, and versatility. From story telling, to giving the streets "that ignorant shit they like", to move music, to rapid fire twisting, and introspective flows; Black-K is the total package. BLACK FIST ENTERTAINMENT will be his avenue of releasing powerful music, which in his words "is not being produced on major labels". It will also provide others who have a creative passion for real hip hop, an outlet to the masses. "I want to see everybody succeed, but I feel we all still need to be creative. I think a big component missing in hip hop is originality. It's like everbody wants to FOLLOW a formula instead of doing what's really in they hearts and souls. Like I don't go to the club like that, so you not gonna hear me doin alot of club songs, I may do it once in a while to keep it entertaining but that's not what my life is. Don't get me wrong, by all means have fun because that's what hip hop is about, but keep it 100; don't do a plethora of songs that portray you in a reality that's not yours just because it worked for someone else who may actually live that reality. Just BE YOU and you can't go wrong." With the release of his first solo mixtape "I'm The Truth For Real" , Black-K is anxious to see what 2009 has to offer. STAY TUNED TO THE MOVEMENT!!!!!!!
