When I was a kid I wanted to be a dolphin trainer. When I became an adult I wanted to be a marine biologist, a writer, a lawyer, a photojournalist, a metal fabricator, an artist, an actor, a firefighter, and a fashion photographer. I currently attend school to cut hair. Yep. To cut hair. Let me explain...I purchased a salon in Escondido with my sister, who is a stylist. For myself it was simply a business opportunity. I wanted to own something; design something; have my name on something. Then came the epiphany, the moment of clarity, the ignition of the spark of ingenuity, the lightbulb beaming in my brain. Bt then it went out, I can't remember what it was. But then I thought of something else! I was a straight male in a female dominated industry...uh, hello!! This was brilliant! Why not learn to cut hair?? I weighed the positives and negatives. Negatives: School 5 nights a week; long days with work & school; loss of a social life; hiding the decision from male friends; being considered Gay by anyone and everyone; no more socce;, the general deterioration of my health; being considered Gay. Positives: School 5 nights a week surrounded by aspiring hair stylists of the female persuasion; the possibility of, as a STRAIGHT male stylist, making a lot of money; surrounded by women 5 nights a week; making lot of dough, and being accosted by hot chicks every night of the week. The decision was difficult, and after 6 1/2 minutes I decided to enroll. So far it's been an interesting time, but as I prove to be retarded on occasion, I got myself a girlfriend, and thus eliminated the possible benefits posed by 50% of my positives. It's good though, cause she's awesome, and not jealouse at all! So I own Hair Attitudes, in Escondido, Ca. and I'm going to school to be a hair cutter, stylist, dresser thing.
