About Me

The DV at the end of our name stands for DEMAND VALVE, the part of an aqualung that you draw air from into your mouth. We added this after someone came along and used the name Aqualung and being so lazy we had never registered the name...ooops................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ ...................................Formed 1992, the band refused to split up and even now talk about recording again, more drummers than Spinal Tap, more ugliness than Eastenders.................................................. ............................................................ ............................................................ .....................................The band were once so poor that Wayne used an upright vacumn cleaner for a mic stand and sung on his knees, critics of the band say that the band always sounded as though it was on it's knees!...................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ .......................................Wayne was once bitten on the hand before a gig by a blind dog and played the gig with blood running down his hand........................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ .........................................Toby saved the band from being burnt in a fire by, not carrying them out of the building, but by dragging a cassette player that had caught fire out of the door by the electrical lead...my hero!....................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ ........................................During the bands 2nd gig, well during the first song, all the power went off in the building and Wayne and Rob Derby did a drum and vocals thing, that was rubbish..................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ .......................................All songs were recorded live, Rocket man Pension features some nifty keyboard work which Wayne played with his feet whilst playing guitar and singing, hence the reason the first note is missing every time the keyboard comes in!......................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ ..........................................The 4 members of the band left a gig one night and headed off to a party, when they arrived there were 5 people in the van, it was a little scary but then they realised that one was a rugby player manuquin which in true band spirit they hung and destroyed. We apologise if this belonged to you!........................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ .........................................The band onced asked a reporter to go to the nearest phone box and call for the interview as they deemed this to be more Rock 'N'Roll..................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ ..................................The guys hired a clapped out van to get to a gig and then got a friend to tow it there for them! ............................................................ ............................................................ ............................................................ .................................. Stuart was once in a band called Backwater which is not another name for the runs!....................................................... ............................................................ ............................................................ ........................................More to follow
