MOONSHINE

Moonshine is any kind of alcohol, mostly whiskey or rum, made secretly to avoid high taxes or escape from restrictions. The term "moonshine" comes from England, there was actually a popular verb: "'moonshining", which refers to any kind of job or activity practiced in the still of the night.
The band Moonshine was formed in March of 2007, in Curitiba/PR, when Marcelo Cruz (drums) and Eduardo Stonoga (bass) were chating at a bar table. They decided to invite others musicians to form a new band, and play the biggest AOR and Hard Rock hits of all times. A guitar player, called Fábio Yamagami, an old band mate, joined the band. After that, Marcelo had the idea to invite an old friend to the other guitar post. So they needed a vocalist, to complete the band. They called André Mendes, vocalist and guitar player from the band DragonHeart. When there wasn't much hope for a possible keyboard player, André told that he knew one, which was contacted imediately, Ronaldo Junior, keyboard player from Dark Symphony, to assume the keyboards in Moonshine .
The band began rehearsing and performed some gigs. A few time later, Fábio Yamagami had to leave the band, so Moonshine kept performing gigs with only one guitar player. Later, André Mendes had to leave the band too, due to professional matters, so Ronaldo indicated Beto Ferreira, from the band Dark Symphony.
As soon as Beto joined the band, they needed a new guitar player, and someone with vocal skills too. So the name of Gus Piasecki was cogitated, a week later, Gus became a new member of the band.
Since then, Moonshine keeps performing gigs in their hometown, where they play hits of bands like: Journey, Kansas, Survivor, Bon Jovi, Europe, Van Halen, and lots of other stuff.

Moonshine é qualquer tipo de álcool, geralmente uísque ou rum, feito secretamente para evitar os altos impostos ou escapar da proibição imposta às bebidas alcoólicas. O termo "moonshine" vem da Inglaterra, onde era originalmente um verbo, "moonshining", referente a qualquer profissão ou atividade que fosse feita na calada da noite.
A banda Moonshine surgiu em março de 2007, na cidade de Curitiba/PR, quando Marcelo Cruz (bateria) e Eduardo Stonoga (baixo) conversavam numa mesa de bar. Decidiram convidar músicos para formar uma nova banda e tocar vários dos grandes clássicos do AOR e Hard Rock. Um guitarrista, chamado Fábio Yamagami, já havia tocado com os dois numa antiga banda e foi recrutado para a banda. Em seguida, Marcelo teve a idéia de convidar um velho amigo, Everton Camu, para assumir a outra guitarra. Então o próximo integrante necessário para fechar o grupo seria um vocalista. Para o posto, convidaram André Mendes, vocalista e guitarrista da banda Dragonheart. Quando já não havia muita esperança para um possível tecladista, André disse que conhecia um e no mesmo dia em que foi contatado, convidou Ronaldo Junior, tecladista da banda Dark Symphony, para assumir as teclas da banda Moonshine.
A banda iniciou seus ensaios e realizou alguns shows. Pouco tempo depois, Fábio Yamagami precisou deixar a banda, então a Moonshine seguiu fazendo shows com apenas um guitarrista. Mais tarde, André Mendes teve que largar a função de vocalista por motivos profissionais, então Ronaldo indicou Beto Ferreira, vocalista da banda Dark Symphony.
Logo após a entrada de Beto, um novo guitarrista seria necessário à banda, preferencialmente que fizesse backing vocal. Foi aí que o nome de Gus Piasecki foi cogitado e, semanas depois, Gus tornou-se o novo membro da banda.
Desde então, Moonshine segue fazendo shows em sua região natal, nos quais toca hits de bandas como Journey, Kansas, Survivor, Bon Jovi, Europe, Van Halen, dentre outros.
