About Me

Xfactor was formed by Rich Engel and John Menicucci during their tenure at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC). They shared an overall commonplace and chemistry in music, and enlisted the help of the rest of their friends to contribute to what has become Xfactor. The prowess of Pete Zeiner’s vocals and lyrics, along with the variety of percussion styles contributed by: Will Strickland, Roger Kidd, Dino Nickolas and Patrick Cronin, not to forget our guests Michael Ortiz and Tim Ryan, that enabled our jams to evolve from just ideas, into actual songs and music. We’d also like to give a special thanks to a couple other project members: William "Macgyver" Holt, for all the time and effort spent on the technical and recording side, and Scotty Wales (aka "Johnny Excitement") for unconditional support and enthusiasm. Kudos to all the friends and family in our circle of fifths.
Band Statement:
Music’s been way too much fun...especially in the ol days! We’ve managed to capture some of those memories along the way, up until about 1996. It’s been a while, but there’s been talk of a third project album, modern no doubt, to continue the trend and memory making experience.
It’s amazing how the genre, style, and tendencies change along the way, according to what’s in vogue, but we’re excited about the old and new just the same. The fact of the matter still remains "It’s music", and the more you get/make...the better ya feel. Thankfully, music continues to serve as the purist avenue for the greatest form of therapy!
Peace, Xfactor
