Status Hat Productions

About Me

"The art experience is a primal and beneficial human drive -- to create, and share with one another through the creative act, is vital for individuals and communities to flourish."

Status Hat Productions is an arts collaborative.
We produce new works in a variety of media, particularly those that bring together divergent artists & artforms. We also seek to create and facilitate opportunities for participatory exploration of the arts, throughout the extended community.
Status Hat Productions is dedicated to fostering the time, space and resources necessary to cultivate the arts and art experience in everyday life.
Cheers! Carli

"Creating Games (an interactive game room)":

..

Creating "Games of Sticks and Stones..." required about 3 months. We brainstormed possible games, tested and developed 5 games, and transformed a spectrum of raw materials into the game pieces and landscape. Most of the component pieces were put through a several step process to create the final look of the installation. The slideshow above shows some of that work as it was in progress. Carli Castellani

Principals:

CARLI CASTELLANI , Artistic Director

Carli Castellan i is an American artist and writer. She is a founding partner of Status Hat Productions.

Carli creates sculptures, arrangements and interactive installations, as well as theatrical works. Her work is often whimsical or playful in nature, and is generally inspired by the points where mythology, history and culture converge. She is particularly interested in the human drive to mark, modify and manipulate our environment, and in the pervasive visual and audio saturation found in contemporary society.

TIM CASTELLANI , Executive Producer

Tim Castellani is a bassist, and founding partner of Status Hat Productions.

He has been creating and playing music his whole life, including a childhood immersed in classical trumpet. Tim has been involved in all phases of production, performance and recording for several rock operas, as well as producing cds for a variety of bands and projects. He has an extensive performance background, including in theater settings and for dance troupes.

Tim is truly happy to see music happen, and to share in it’s joy with others.
