Haulin’ Dust calls their brand of music mind-wreckin’ rock ’n’ roll. That rock is built by four musicians from the Huntington area who have played a string of local biker club events, select charity events, and local clubs since 2001. Haulin' Dust was formed originally in 2001 by guitarist Matt Staton and Jeff Dillon after realizing they were just haulin' around dusty equipment. Thus, Haulin' Dust was born. The wheels truly started turning for the band with the addition of drummer Doc Maynard and bassist Scott Morrison in 2002. The First lineup was complete and ready to take on the world beginning with the red eye chili fest in Summersville, WV on August 6, 2003 literally blowing all bands off the stage. The Band further strengthened with the addition of former MindRide Guitarist and Lead singer Allen Ross who joined the band in 2003. Allen brought soulful vocals and virtuoso guitar playing to an already strong lineup. In 2004 Jason Robinette took over drumming duties after a crash course in the band's material. After just 15 total hours of rehearsal, Jason performed his first show with the band at the L.R.M.C. on September 25, 2004. Jeff and the guys amicably parted ways in 2005, bringing the lineup to its present status. Many Highlights include Playing for the grand opening of the now closed Gemstones customs in 2005, opening for Black Stone Cherry in 2006, A benefit for the Sago miners in 2006, Rally at the Point for the Make a Wish Foundation in 2007, Winning Battle for X-Fest at the Monkey Bar in July, 2007, Playing at Rib Fest in huntington in august, 2007, performing at X-Fest on September 1st, 2007, and opening for David Allan Coe on April 2, 2008. Also, in the works is a CD of all original material in the near future. Be on the lookout. The band tosses out some heavy originals and then takes some of the best rock songs from back in the day and blasts them with their own style, a slight dusting if you will to make them their own.
