Greetings again from THIS IS ROCK ’N’ ROLL RADIO with Dana & Carl, the self-proclaimed Best Three Hours Of Radio On The Whole Friggin’ Planet. Well, we’re putting our antenna to the sky once again, every Sunday night, from 9 to Midnight Eastern, exclusively at www.westcottradio.org.
There’s always some uncertainty (the webcast could crash again, the weather could turn nasty, I may need to do my nails or there might be something really, really good on TV), but right now we’re reacquainting all of our loyal fans--yes, both of you--with rock ’n’ roll radio the way it oughtta be. What’ll we play? WE HAVE NO FREAKIN’ CLUE-- (pause 1,2,3,4....) so that should kill some time while we figure out what we’re doing. Heh..."Figure out what we’re doing." If we ever accomplished that, we wouldn’t be Dana & Carl.
We've put together two THIS IS ROCK 'N' ROLL RADIO compilation CDs for JAM Recordings, featuring lots of great tracks from The Flashcubes, The Cowsills, John Wicks & the Records, DM3, The Lolas, The Spongetones, The Rooks and many others; both CDs are still available from CD Baby.
As a freelance writer, Carl has contributed to Goldmine magazine, and written liner notes for various cool rockin' pop acts and for Rhino Records' power pop anthology Poptopia! Power Pop Classics Of The '90s. Carl also contributed to the books MusicHound Rock, Bubblegum Music Is The Naked Truth, Lost In The Grooves and the power pop omnibus, Shake Some Action.

While Dana does not write as much as Carl, He has played guitar in several Syracuse bands over the years, such as Moist, The Canetoads, thesuperactioncuntmodified and played bass in Lovelorn. Although Dana is not jamming in any band right now, he loves to take photos of bands. Dana has taken the cover shot for the Delta Rays 45 (Maura Kennedy's old band), the Unholy Wives CD and pictures of Game Theory for the Village Voice.
