After being away from stand-up comedy for eight years, comedian Skeeter Murray will take the stage at 1515 Broadway Theater in downtown Detroit. Portions of the show will be filmed for an upcoming 1 hour comedy special (starring Murray), called "True Story" scheduled to air on the Colours television network.
Murray, 39, of Detroit has had the opportunity to work with well-known comedians like Bernie Mac, Chris Tucker, Jamie Foxx and Richard Pryor. Murray takes pride in the fact that he was called to do a show with Richard Pryor, his favorite comedian:
"Richard Pryor is a comedy icon. He is the standard and has opened the doors for so many others. He gave more to comedy than most people recognize or appreciate. Imagine comedy without Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, Chris Tucker Dave Chappelle, Robin Harris, Bernie Mac, Eddie Griffin, Katt Williams or Skeeter Murray," says a smiling Murray.
