The How Weird Street Faire showcases many diverse genres of electronic music, including Live Electronica, Downtempo, Dubstep, Electro, Breaks, Psytrance, House, Techno, Drum & Bass, World Beat, and too many sub-genres to name! With ten stages in 2009, there will be something for everyone.

The music stages are produced by collaborations of collectives and artists; including the Consortium of Collective Consciousness, Tantra, Neuroweapon, Muti Music, An-ten-nae, Raindance, Koinonea, Kontrol, Sunset, Groove Garden, Mystic Beat Lounge, Earthdance, Non Stop Bhangra, Symbiosis, Opulent Temple, Opel, Temple Nightclub, Brass Tax, Le Harem, and more!

Electronic music is possibly the most universally produced and appreciated form of music around the world, and the first truly global form of music. The How Weird Street Faire uses this music to bring many different kinds of people together and create a common bond. We have found that dancing knows no boundaries or political affiliation. Music, more than any other form of communication, is able to transcend differences between people. It is through music and art that peace is always possible.

But more than music... How Weird is a street fair,
now located near downtown San Francisco.

In 2009, there will be ten city blocks filled with art and celebration. There will be food and vendors from around the world selling unique and creative wares. There will be non-profit organizations to educate and inspire you. There will be performance artists and thousands of people in colorful costumes dancing in the streets. And there will be the opportunity to meet members of your extended family, and forge lasting connections.

The How Weird Street Faire supports sustainable actions and education. We believe in making peace with the planet. And other planets too.

Come join the fun at San Francisco's most unique peace celebration.

Songs are more powerful than bombs.

The five songs on this page are from the How Weird Street Faire CD Volume 1. It was produced in 2003 by artists who had played at the faire. There are ten timeless tracks by very talented musicians. The idea was to showcase songs that inspire peace. The album, like the faire, transcends boundaries by combining different genres.

How Weird Street Faire CD Volume 1 features songs from Irina Mikhailova, Adam Ohana & Eve, Shakatura, Quasar, Penta, Ocelot, Biodegradable, Kode IV, Waterjuice, and Bassnectar.

We have begun collecting songs that inspire peace for a new compilation in honor of the 10th anniversary of the How Weird Street Faire.

We call on all artists to create songs of peace. During this time of war, we are faced with historic challenges and possibilities, as we address the sustainable use of our resources and planet. We need to learn to live in peace. Now.

Peace is possible.
