About Me

The French musician Marc Stutz-Boukouya went after finishing his studies in 1990 to London and from 1991-2001 he lived in Berlin, where he became an active, well-known leading light of Berlin's free music and improvisation scene. He is continuously active as soloist in the domain of experimental music, works as teacher and conductor of several ensembles. Another focus lays on his compositions with its stylistics roots in jazz and new European music, always leaving room for improvisation. International festivals, concerts and tours led him through Europe, Africa and Asia. He was participant of the following festivals: Warschauer Herbst Fest., Moers, Total Music Meeting, Bonner Herbst, Donnaueschinger Musiktage and many others. Marc Stutz-Boukouya won several international scholarships and worked with the following ensembles: Globe Unity Orchestra, Berlin Contemporary Jazz Orchestra, Ensemble Orchestrale LaBaule, Hannes Zerbe Blech Band, J'Ozz Quartet, Luniks Project, Trio Plau, Vingt de Tension, Forkestra, Berlin Skyscraper, Experimenti Berlin, Jon Lloyd Sextet, Instant Art Ensemble, Wilde Trichter, Association Urbanetique, Playground, Steel Cello Ensemble, Sprachlos, the Os, New Pulse Ensemble and many others.With the composers : Alvin Curran, Marc-André Dalbavie, Anthony Braxton, Vinko Globokar, Jean-Claude Eloy, Stefan Winkler and many others.He played/is still playing with the following musicians: Steve Lacy,Steven Garling, Misha Mengelberg, Paul Lovens, Dietmar Diesner, Jason Kahn, Ignaz Schick, Pierre Zeidler, Willem Breuker, Karl Berger, Mike Patton, Butch Morris, Sirone, John Russel, Alan Tomlinson, Paul Rutherford, Alex Kolkowski, Francine Luce, Aki Takase, Eywind Kang, Conrad Bauer,John Tchicai, Hannes Bauer, Jon Lloyd, Mark Sanders, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Alan Silva, Keith Tipett, Blixa Bargeld, David Moss, JC Jones, E.L.
