Hi All. My name is Jason Keli'inohokula Lindo; to friends Jason or Keli'i. I was born 48 yrs ago in Honolulu, Hawai'i. My family and my island birthplace really are the foundation of who and what I am today. My mother's family are Native Hawaiian, Chinese and descendants of Portuguese Jews; my father's family are all immigrants from the Azores and Madeira and also the descendants of Portuguese Sephardic Jews. So, I am a bit of a poi dog, as we say back home. I grew up in a very Hawaiian home; I was fortunate to have a grandfather who's first language was Native Hawaiian, so I do speak a bit of our native language. I grew up with the Hawaiian values of love of God (Akua), love of ohana (family) and love of 'aina, the land. From that foundation came my lifelong interest is geneology, Hawaiian culture, music and language, cooking, spirituality and the paranormal. Yes, I said the paranormal! A big part of my family life was the telling and retelling of chicken skin stories, ghostlore and family ghost stories and stories about our guardian spirits, Aumakua, and our ancestors, kupuna. I also came from a family of many gifted sensitives, on both the Hawaiian and Portuguese sides, and a few healers. I took all of these family treasures, packed them up in a suitcase and moved to California when I was 18 yrs old to go to school. I eventually graduated with an Master's Degree in Social Work, MSW. I also came out, made some incredible and lifelong friendships and got very involved in gay and lesbian politics during the AIDS epidemic, when I lost more friends than I care to think about in a span of 10 yrs. I moved around a little bit, spending almost 2 yrs in Boston, MA before coming back to Sacramento, which has become home. 17 yrs ago I met my partner, Michael, and through ups and downs we have been together ever since. We currently live here in Sacramento with our 3 rescue cocker spaniels: Sadie, Buddy and Skippy. 13 yrs ago I formally converted to Reform Judaism and am very active in my local synagogue. I work today as a supervisor for a large, state funded agency that serves the developmentally disabled in Northern California. I also am very involved in paranormal investigations, and am a proud member of American Paranormal Investigators, A.P.I. where I am one of the investigators and sensitives in the group. So, that is me in a nutshell.
