Marc Rogers was conceived in 1969 in the back of a Volzwegen Van during the song Inna-Gadda-Da-Vidda. As a child he constantly had his ear glued to his bedroom door listening to comedians such as Richard Pryor and George Carlin. By age 5 he answered every question with the phrase, “Live From New York It’s Saturday Night!†In 1977 when his first grade teacher asked him, “what’s so funny†he single handedly destroyed the entire class with his delivery of Little Johnny’s classic, “Pass the Motherfucking Mashed Potatoesâ€. In 1985 during English class, he was given another opportunity to demonstrate “what’s so funny†and again struck comedy gold with his rendition of The William Tell Overture performed with his armpits. Since then he has lived in every corner of Texas making people laugh along the way. In 2005 he was diagnosed with cancer. That wasn’t painful enough so he joined the world of Stand Up Comedy for the first time, dying on stage rather than in a hospital bed. Later that same year he won the George Carlin Comedy Writing Essay sponsored by the Laugh Factory Hollywood, and has the autographed poster to prove it. He has also written several articles for Unconfirmedsources.com voted Best Political Satire website in 2006. His comedy style has been described as hip with a mix of observational humor and true to life stories with an edge. Covering topics such as Religion, growing up in the South and surviving cancer, he isn’t afraid to find the comical line that has been drawn and purposely cross it for a laugh. Currently based in Houston Texas, Marc Rogers can be seen at local comedy clubs around South East Texas and Louisiana.
