I know I am a bit unusual and a bit eccentric. To some I may even seem creepy or stalkerish. Let me attempt to outline my prime motivations in life so that you might see an honest picture of who I am.- I like to find the common ground. I enjoy finding what is similar and build from there.- I have a kind heart and like to see others succeed.- I love literature, music, and visual arts of all types.- I have the curiosity of a true scientist and scholar. I enjoy learning for the sake of knowledge.- My enneagram type is the peacemaker.- I am a quiet person until I get to know you. I am highly intelligent and do a lot of internal processing and cross-referencing. This is just me figuring out how best to express myself in a way that you will understand. This is also me getting a feel for your boundaries and expectations. I wish to neither offend you nor imply a greater commitment than intended.- I have an excellent memory and often will remember many details you have forgotten. If I mention it, it is either a conversation starter, or simply letting you know that you are important enough that people take notice.- With my broad and eclectic tastes and excellent memory, as well as my love for simile, I will often use references for humor, insight, parody, or all of the above. Not everyone gets the joke but I love it when they do. Those who don't get the joke will often see me as "that weird guy". Don't worry though, I throw in some "lowbrow" for good measure from time to time.- Social activity coupled with accepting the focus of attention is part of my actualization. Thus, public performance and online social networks help facilitate that. I makes me less invisible, encourages socialization, and gives a better chance to find a common ground regarding interests and tastes.- If I offend you in some way, or if something I say or do confuses you, feel free to stop and ask me about it, or tell me that it bothered you. If you feel I misunderstood you then feel free to stop me and ask. Chances are, it was a case of what was being said not being what was heard. Most of the time I am excellent at active listening but I can be guilty of misstating, or misinterpreting things. We are all human. If you feel like a block is necessary, I ask that you give me to courtesy of talking to me first about the issue to see if it can be remedied, or at the very least giving me some idea about what happened. Honesty goes a long way with me. The key here is asking me. Every additional step in the grapevine can create exponentially progressive garbling of the message.- I am generally observant but do not assume that I have or have not observed a specific thing. If I am focusing my attention on one thing I sometimes have to tune out the rest. In fact, in nearly every case, it is best to ask and not assume.
