Bio

Fatecage is a three-piece melodic thrash metal band based in Portland, Oregon. Influences include the dynamic contrast of Godsmack, the melodic angst of Scars of Life, and the aggressive energy of Mudvayne. A taste of Panteras southern flavor sneaks in, too. The trio's widely divergent influences have fused to create music that is raw and galloping with moody, melodic themes weaving throughout heavy riffing. Fatecage music dwells in that strange place where the gut meets the mind, leaving listeners energized, but thoughtful.

Influences:

These aren't necessarily influences... just bands that we've enjoyed or learned something from or been inspired by or gotten laid while listening to or grudgingly respected (in no particular order):

Slayer, Mudvayne, Pantera, Zakk Wylde, Megadeth, Rush, Pink Floyd, Godsmack, Kittie, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rage Against the Machine, Otep, White Zombie, Beethoven, Primus, Tom Petty, Violent Work of Art, Ozzy, Scars of Life, Les Finnigan, The Cars, Vangelis, Black Label Society, Demonlord, Bob Marley, Iron Maiden, Mozart, Roger Waters, and of course a bunch more, but we can't go on forever, can we?

Note: If you think some or all of these bands suck, please refrain from informing us of your opinion, no matter how much more valuable than ours you believe your opinion to be. We recommend attending a support group for people who have trouble accepting that other folks have different musical tastes. It's ok that we're not exactly like you. Really.

Sounds Like:

Dave Mustaine's right hand fell into a blender with Zakk Wylde's left hand and got mixed up with Dimebag's testicles... Greg Tribbett drank the result, and liked it so much that he shared it with Daron Malakian, who got sick and threw up on Tony Rombola. Cliff Burton and Les Claypool thumb wrestled for ownership of the recipe and Steve Harris refereed the match while Justin Chancellor agonized over who he should root for and spilled his beer in the excitement.

Um, other than that, it sounds like Fatecage.
