//The origins of Debutant Disco date back to 2007 when singer Celeste Bell and guitarist Matt Wilson decided to write and record songs together. //Debutant Disco became a proper band around May 2008, when bassist Vitaly Franco and drummer Richard Libeton teamed up with the duo. The band had a flying start as they were immediately added to the bill of a one-off show of legendary British punk-rock band X-Ray Spex at The Roundhouse in Camden, London, early September. //Debutant Disco's members all bring distinct musical influences to the table. The band has worked tremendously on writing material and defining their own, unique sound. The response to their music, in both the UK and Spain, has been incredibly positive and rewarding. //Celeste Bell is from London. Born into a family of musicians, she spent her early childhood living in a Hare Krishna commune. She moved to Brixton with her mother and was influenced by the reggae and hip-hop culture that flourished there. After University she spent some time traveling before she moved to Madrid to teach English. //Matt Wilson was born in Glastonbury, England and spent a number of years living as a traveler, playing in a variety of bands, ranging from punk to fairy folk music. He trained as a sound engineer and then left the UK to work in Madrid. //Richard Libeton spent a good deal of his life living and working in Rotterdam. He has played in several bands, from rock to pop to new wave to jazz. He used to work as a teacher of English in secondary schools in and around Rotterdam before moving to Madrid, four years ago. //Vitaly Franco grew up in Lima, Peru. He has lived in Aspen, CO and Israel, where he spent three months vaccinating turkeys in a kibbutz in the desert. Being a traveler by default, he then moved to Madrid, to work as a teacher of English.
