Myspace LED ScrollerLorenzo Sims didn’t always make his living as a stand up comic. For ten years he earned a paycheck in a management position in corporate America. In 2000, a job transfer led the Chicago native to Los Angeles. Three years later, after making a bet with friends to get up and perform at a local open mic night, Lorenzo immediately discovered his true calling – his ability to make people laugh- and his life was changed forever. Lorenzo explains, "The best thing about leaving corporate America is not having my check garnished by bill collectors!" Lorenzo quit his 9-to-5 and over the next few years, he honed his comedy skills in clubs across the country. And the rest, as they say, is comedy history. Lorenzo Sims has taken the comedy scene by storm! Lorenzo’s quick-witted impromptu remarks and sidesplitting insights on life make him a favorite wherever he performs. His stories of growing up with family, his days as an athlete, working in corporate America, fatherhood and his everyday views on life never fail to draw huge laughs from his audiences.
Known for his brilliantly expressed and uncompromisingly spontaneous insights, Lorenzo has performed at comedy clubs such as The Comedy Store, The Comedy Union and The Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, California as well as clubs across the country. He has also been the featured host of music concerts, weddings, back yard boogies and bar mitzvahs from coast to coast.
Branching out into acting, Lorenzo has appeared in the movies “Choices II†(starring the multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning rap group Three 6 Mafia) and “Near Mrs.†(starring comedian Rodney Perry).
