There are too many songs that I heard someday in some place in some particular situation and they made me cry - of joy, of pain, of compassion to be connected with someone so deeply through the power of music. I do not want to line up names now, I cud recall something like: "a rythm that sounded and felt like raindrops dripping on my face and belly and then turned into a hailstorm further down..." but names and labels escape my mind and understanding... in any case I am highly greatful to any artist sharing the beauty of songs with us.
Movies:
I am a fierce movie-goer and yet I haven't seen any of those blockbusters the world talks about and showers with oscars. I belong to the so-called and so-labelled 'art-house-crowd', with a refined, sophisticated, artistic taste. There are a number of all time favourites, one of them I will keep a secret... The others are:'SCHLAFES BRUDER' (German masterpiece film adaptation of Patrick Suesskind's eponymous novel)'NON TI MUOVERE' (Italian... of course, the land of a longstanding fantastic film-making tradition... and I loved it before the Penelope Cruz- mania started!!! Sergio Castellitto is a great film-maker),'THE FOUNTAIN' (a fairly recent production directed by the brilliant Darren Aronofsky... Rachel Weisz is so beautiful in this one... AMAZING... possibly the closest to what I'd call modern, experimental, profound, intelligent filmmaking)Go and see this one instead of Space Ships and silly flying Spidermen and Superladies with megaboobs!!! In other words: Get a grip on reality!!!
