About Me
Hi. My name is Vanessa Feltner. I am a singer, songwriter, pianist and company owner of: PTI-Premier Talent International. I was raised in a Christian home growing up singing and writing Gospel music. My father was a prominent Gospel songwriter and I sang with him for many years until 1994 when I was contracted to perform throughout Asia, Europe and the Middle East in 5 star hotels. I have performed in many countries: 5 years throughout Japan, 2 1/2 years in Seoul Korea, six months in Thailand, 2 months in Shanghai China, seven months in Jakarta Indonesia, eight months in Ho Chi Minh Vietnam, four months in Singapore, two months in Sweden, five months in Germany, three months in Dubai and 13 months in Abu Dhabi. I was privileged to sing for the President and Vice President of Indonesia two times, to be hired by their country to compose songs for their social campaigns, then to perform those songs at a concert of alot of the political people in their government, was offered a position to open and run a music school for them and went to Bali with the head members of family planning government division, the Vice President of the Democratic party there and several other members of government for a sit around the table type political discussion. Those were incredibly amazing experiences. I have really enjoyed my time traveling and have made wonderful friends all over the world who will remain life long friends. *************When I was growing up my father, Charles Feltner, took me to many countries performing: Egypt, Israel-Palestine, Cyprus, Lebanon, France, Italy and Greece. I grew up traveling so I guess when they called me to go to Japan to perform it was natural for me to go. It was already in my blood. I think Dad and I both had gypsy blood and I still do, lol. I have written many songs and am pursuing it more now since I am back in country. Three of my original Gospel songs were recorded six times by the top Southern Gospel groups in the USA: Jesus I Want To Thank You, I'll Keep Holding On and I'll Always Love Gospel Music. Dad passed away four years ago and he left me his songs which I strive to keep alive. He was nominated for a dove award in 1978 for his 1 song, "I'll See You In The Rapture". In 2006 the number 1 2009 group in Southern Gospel music: Booth Brothers recorded, "I'll See You In The Rapture" again. They did such an excellent rendition. It was new, current and fresh. Just fabulous. And recently another group recorded Dad's song "Mamma's Prayer" and it's currently the number 1 most requested in three states. I am so excited for Dad. I wish he was here to enjoy it. He would be so happy. He lived and breathed Gospel music. I'll be assigning a lot of Dad's and my songs for publishing to Ricky Atkinson, Southern Gospel"s "2008 Songwriter of the year" and "Song of the Year by the Inspirations". ******RICKY ATKINSON-RESTING PLACE MUSIC RELEASED MY SONG, "I WILL BE HEALED" ON SEPTEMBER 1 To 64 CHART REPORTING SOUTHERN GOSPEL RADIO STATIONS ACROSS AMERICA!!! Some of them are also playing, "Your Majesty", "Sometimes You Can't Walk, You Gotta Run" and "God Will Provide". WDOV West Virginia telephoned to say, he is adding all the songs from my CD into rotation. Last week I went to West Virginia and did an hour radio interview with Dwayne Fowler at WEMM. We had a great time! Next Sunday I'm heading to Ava Illinois to meet with WXAN DJ Glendall Fullerton and sing at his church. I'm very excited about the future! So PLEASE CALL YOUR LOCAL CHRISTIAN RADIO STATIONS AND REQUEST VANESSA FELTNER - "I WILL BE HEALED or whatever you favorite cut is! AND TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT!******I'm really so excited it about this project!!! We had our CD release concert at CROSSROADS CHURCH OF GOD where I attend church in Dayton Ohio on November 14. 2009. We had a full house. All 14 pieces of the band were there and we had an amazing great time! We rocked the house! Everyone really enjoyed themselves. My dear Friend Nicole Cottom from the former Roger Troutman and ZAPP BAND sang two songs at the concert from her CD. Great songs especially, "King"! We also did one of our songs Nicole and I co-wrote, "God Will Provide" at the concert. On the CD she and Chris Wingfield did great harmony arrangements on it! Kimberly Parks also did two songs from her CD and did an excellent job too. One of my favorites on the CD, "Not Against The Church" when I first heard it, I didn't even know it was my song, lol, and I seriously danced around the room and said, "That's a great song!" And Chris Wingfield, my producer, looked up at me from the board with an amused look and then realizing it was my song, duh, I asked, "IS THAT MY SONG!?!", Not Against The Church! OH MY GOSH! It is a throw down funk rock in your face song with a bit of an 70's flavor. So cool! Koerry Mitchell and Kimberly Parks did these amazing vocals on it! Kimberly did some vocal soloing into Jamie Mineer adding some soulful adlibs into his preaching track towards the end. Jamie is an ordained Church of God minister and the man can preach! Both, "God Will Provide" and "Not Against The Church" were inspired by Pastor Joseph Prince from the New Creation Church in Singpore. I attended there for approximately three months and always came home with a notebook full of song ideas.**********I recorded my CD with pianist, keyboardist and engineer Chris Wingfield in Dayton Ohio and he is so incredible. I feel incredibly blessed to work with such a talented man. I'm incredibly privileged to have such great vocalists on this project too: Nicole Cottom, Jamie Mineer, Koerry Mitchell and Kimberly Parks. It's difficult to sing with Kimberly in the room lol because seems all we do is talk and laugh but then she gets serious and goes in the sound room and knocks it out of the park lol. She's amazing. All of them have done such an excellent job! Each one of them in their own right are great vocalists. Jamie's brother: Steve Mineer played a great lead guitar solo on I Will Be Healed and does a lot of superb guitar work throughout the CD. Randy Miller, my life long friend, played guitars on Sometimes You Can't Walk You Gotta Run and was the GREAT Randy Miller sound as usual!! Koerry Mitchell did amazing harmonies on Blow Your Horn, Oh Gabriel which is my take on Dixie Land Gospel. That's him on all four harmonies on Blow Your Horn. Then Jamie, Kimberly and Koerry did wonderful harmonies on the Painter, Not Against The Church" and along with Nicole Cottom on God Will Provide". Chris Wingfield outdone himself on Dad's song, "I'll See You In The Rapture" I asked him for something more intimate and personal and completely different for my Dad. He came up with this old Nat King Cole style mellow jazz version with the upright contra bass. I absolutely love it so much. Another song on the CD:"I Close My Eyes And Dream" I played the piano on it and it is very different in the production being piano, violin and Kimberly Parks only. I was so very thrilled a dear friend of mine, Mario Gheorghiu who performs in one of the top Vienna Austria symphonies, played all the strings and the most incredibly passionate beautiful violin solos. He is so amazing. I feel so extremely blessed he would play on my little song. Kimberly Parks added such pretty harmonies to it. If you ever meet Kimberly, just say, "dream.... dream....dream.....LOL. That's her doing those on the CD lol!I am currently looking into booking additional concerts in Ohio and in January will begin the I WILL BE HEALED concert tour/Cd promotion. We are booking churches, concerts, festivals, events. etc., where ever God leads us, we will go. Please contact me if you would like us to come to your church or do a concert in your area or your country! Check me out in the Singing News starting in the January issue. We'll start shooting music videos of some of the cuts on the CD and a new one I've just written: No Dust Is Gonna Settle On My Shoutin' Shoes. I'm back in the studio this week starting the new CD. We'll also be at the National Quartet Convention in September at Booth number 228. Please stop by and see us!*********ON THE PERSONAL SIDE: After 15 of traveling overseas I am home in Dayton Ohio and moving into my new place where I am so looking forward to hanging all my paintings I collected. I need mega wall space! My home will probably look more like an art gallery lol! "Little Asia". I plan to buy a black solstice convertible spring 2010. I really wanted to have a dog so Mom ordered me one like hers: a little tea cup terrior. I'm going to name her GIA. I'm so looking forward to actually taking my clothes out of my suit case and have my own closet, decorate with all the beautiful paintings, art and furniture pieces I have collected from all over Asia. I have so many gifts from all over Asia from wonderful people I met and I just want to surround myself with them. Can't wait to start decorating! I am looking forward to having dinner parties and good friends over. It'll be so nice to be home to especially enjoy the holidays with family and friends. *********What else can I tell you about myself? I'm pretty much exactly as I appear to be. I really couldn't be anything else but what I am. I don't believe in pretending to be anything else either. I'll be the first one to admit I'm wrong or confess my faults. I'm very protective of my friends, family and my PTI artists. I'm very direct and honest even when it isn't easy to be, over active and sometimes hyper, lol.... so I hear. Dad's friend, Kenny Shively used to describe me as "when is the tornado blowing in?" LOL! That's me lol! I'm very black or white and never linger in the gray area and can't understand when others seem to live in the gray zone uncertain about what they want to do, what they think about something or can't make a decision. I make decisions quickly. I'm very ambitious and business oriented. I tend to expect directness and decisiveness from everyone too since I am, even when they aren't like me, SORRY LOL! So I guess I don't have much patience in that area lol. I guess that's also one of my faults lol, along with being too busy running my business PTI-Premier Talent International. Relationship wise: I believe in commitment, fidelity, honesty, consistency and respect. I believe in God with all my heart. I believe in prayer. I believe in the Bible. I believe in Christianity and I am a Christian. I believe God will provide for us with an never ending abundant grace. Because of my extensive travels I have learned a lot about other religions of the world. I read the Koran and the Buddist bible. I like to read about other religions to educate myself, better understand their thinking and be able to better communicate with all peoples. I have never been married although I have been dating someone for almost a year now. I don't have children but and am thinking to adopt a little Chinese girl next year, three or four years old. I Don't smoke. I hate cigarettes! I love to travel and see the world and experience new cultures. I like all kinds of different music: from rock to classical to Christian. I like to listen to the different musics of the world too. I love Anguun! I really like Martina McBride and Andrea Bocelli's songs too. Love Trans Siberian Orchestra's Hark How The Bells. There are too many favorites to name. I LOVE LOVE LOVE ITALIAN MUSIC! There is something about Italian music and the language that completely charms me and I can listen to it for hours but there isn't anything better to me or can satisfy me like Christian music. It soothes the soul, gives me peace and I love it. My favorite Christian group is Natalie Grant especially her song called, "Safe". Love the Boothe Brothers especially Ronnie Booth and Jason Crab. ************My favorite color is purple. My favorite flower are roses: purple roses. It was Dad's favorite too and often I look for them to put on his grave. I really love any color rose and I love tulips too. I adore animals especially dogs especially the two cocker spaniels I had: Sassie and Cherish and my mom's tea cup terrior: Angel. I love action movies like Face Off, anything Nicolas Cage and John Travolta or Brad Pitt plays in. I like drama movies like Blood Diamond and the old black and white movies like Withering Heights and Imitation of Life. Angelina Jolie is my favorite actress. I met her in Thailand. She was so beautiful, natural and sweet. Just saw Avatar 3D last night with my friend Nicole Cottom and we loved it! TV: I like CSI, Law and Order and Bernie Mac. Sometimes I like biographies. I love chocolate. I drink way too much coffee lol, that's what my friends Jamie and Kimberly always say lol. Kimberly jokes if you disconnect my coffee IV, I'll fall down. Where Jamie says, "HOW MUCH COFFEE HAVE YOU HAD TODAY! NO MORE COFFEE!" Mom says, "She's that way naturally with or without coffee". How scarie is that lol? Food? hmmm Korean food is my most favorite: kimchi yum! I love kimchi! **********There's so so much to do this year but I have faith and the determination that I can accomplish what I set out to do for "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me." ***************Blessings!
