About Me

WELCOME TO TEAM DRIVEN MOTORSPORTS!
I am Ryan Grupa founder of Driven Motorsports. I created Team Driven for everyone who has a passion for dirt racing, and would like to see our sport become as great as we know it is. The talent and dedication of our drivers and teams on a National, Regional, and even Local level is far greater than the talent and dedication we see even in Nascar. Yet, dirt racers see very little reward for their efforts.
Two years ago I started Grupa Enterprises and began using my 10 years of crew chief and chassis setup experience to help racers in the Midwest. After working with several local racers I realized the need for these teams to be promoted on a professional level, which motivated me to start Team Driven Motorsports. The name speaks for itself. I am DRIVEN to help my clients improve their race programs by: teaching them setup and driving techniques, proper team dynamics, connecting them to industry experts, and using Team Driven to promote their teams to local, regional, and national sponsors, fans, and promoters.
It is the ultimate DREAM of Team Driven Motorsports to UNITE: drivers, crews, fans, sponsors, and promotors from around the world and create a movement to push our sport into the spotlight. It is time to get our sport in front of the eyes of the world, and reward all those involved in dirt racing who have made our sport what it is today.
HISTORY OF RYAN GRUPA
I began working on race cars with driver Trent Follmer 12 years ago at the age of 16. With the help of Follmer's mentor Dale Wilson I learned the basics of setting up cars as we raced mod fours for a year on pavement and then a very successful year on dirt. Then my third year we moved up to a dirt modified again with the help of Wilson. But, after a difficult year trying to compete in the new division Follmer and Wilson decided to part ways, which left our team without a crew cheif. That is when I decided to step up and try to apply what I had begun to learn from Wilson and start applying some of my own theories. This was the beginning of my career in dirt motorsports.
Follmer and I raced modifieds for another 3 years once I became his crew cheif. During our last year in modifieds in a car that I designed we were able to put together a very successful season. We nearly took two track championships and grabbed several victories including the USMTS Badger State Championship at Cedar Lake. From then on it was my goal to make a career of racing.
In 2003 at the age of 22 Follmer and I decided keep pushing our talents and decided to move up to Late Models with the help Jimmy Mars. In our third night in the new car Follmer impressively finished 3rd in the Wissota Cup at Cedar Lake. That boosted our confidence and showed us we had what it took to make it big, even on a limited budget. For the next 3 years we did everything we could to compete with the best in the world. With help from legends such as Jimmy Mars, Chris Mars, Brian Birkhofer, and Pro Power race engines we were able to make a good run at our dream. We raced around the nation competing with the best drivers and teams in the world.
