About Me

Dirty Red was co-founded in June of 2005 by Armando Acosta and Jennifer Starr after the untimely death of their longtime friend Ray Valdez of cancer. Acosta was formerly the drummer of the legendary godfather of all metal bands, "Saint Vitus." Starr hails from a blues and southern background, but Dirty Red is her first project. Dirty Red defies common labels beyond the easy rubric of a southern-fried band, which is compared to almost everyone worth listening to.
It is easier to say what the band is not than to say what the band is

.
Dirty Red does not further the swill made by grown up refugees from the Mickey Mouse Club (please kill me now). Nor do they extensively dip into the progressive sounds of Yes or King Crimson. So far everything else goes.
..

The melodic stories common to the best Southern Rock
are the foundation that firmly holds up walls made of driving chords and furious power borrowed from Doom Metal. Jennifer Starr
In studio they began fusing their two entirely different rock traditions into a single, bleeding stoner styling independent from either genre.
With lyricical content placing dragons, politics, morality and great fragging dope into one very interesting blender, adding the the brute force of thunder, and the soft voice of reason, they created the new sound of classic rock.
Music for the ears of the intellectual burner.
once asked, "Are they the Second Coming of Neil Young", Are they Zeppelin or the Allman Brothers? Is that Cream or Deep Purple calling to demand their sounds back?"
.. .. Don’t know;

Make Your Own at Layoutcodez.net don’t care,
because perhaps we should think in terms of the First Coming of Dirty Red.
Enjoy the Show!
