Backlash 002 presents us with a glimpse of the mindset of upcoming production duo Secret Society:
Side A (Grind House) is a mysterious roller starting out with swirling percussion and minimal keys and giving way to growling sub bass and a gently menacing atmosphere. Spooked out snare rushes contribute to an already ghastly vibe before dropping into unique amen/sub-bass edits. This tune will undoubtedly leave your mind in a suspicious state.
Side AA is an entirely new take on the sounds of South Asia, with a hypnotic future-dub presence taking control on a remix of ZedCopter’s “Tabla Jamâ€. An initial spaced-out sitar invites a darkly intriguing arpeggio. This soon leads way to deep subs and subdued spoken word, accented by the sting of frigid stabs and Bhangra beats. This is an enigmatic approach to South Asian electronica, and we can’t wait to hear more from this duo. Words by Cody Jordan

Digital aka Steve Carr is the primary musical moniker this Ipswich based producer is known exclusively for his "old skool beatz" and "dubby B-lines" but a short conversation and a little investigative listening indicate this is one producer likely to pull a few seriously weighty tricks out of the bag.

This drum and bass connoisseur stems from deep roots in the electronic music scene, drawing on early influences with reggae and dub and the energy of acid house. Hailing from Bedford, UK, this jack of all trade initially made his mark in the lyrical sciences under the pseudonym MC NYX.

APERTURE:
Aperture has put his energy into his solo projects, becoming the first person in the US to be signed to Digital's reknowned Function Records and Paradox's inspiring Paradox Music and Outsider imprints. Aperture was also recently slated for the first release for the relaunch of stateside giant Breakbeat Science.

Modular has been DJing and producing music for over 15 years. You may have known him as Stomp, one half of Stomp & Weaver, together they released 25 + commercial releases. Over the past few years Modular has been working in other areas of the industry but now he is back on the music flex with some fresh beats.
