What is Nowt Records?Nowt Records is a not-for-profit organization seeking to build new audiences for independent, creative music and musicians. As the borders between jazz, rock, and contemporary classical music become more and more porous, we aim to promote musicians who exist between the lines, with the hope of exposing them to the widest possible range of audiences. We do this first by giving independent musicians a collective online presence at our website, nowtrecords.org; second, by utilizing independent and new media outlets to publicize new releases and tours by our musicians; and third, by sponsoring a diverse array of educational programs focusing on a more creative, less dogmatic approach to teaching music.
