Elastic Axis

About Me

Formed in Dublin in 2006, Elastic Axis plays original music drawing on jazz, contemporary compositional and Eastern European (klezmer) languages, emphasising the writing of bandleader and guitarist Alex Roth.

The group was awarded Jazz Services' National Touring Support Scheme to tour the UK in July 2007 and followed this with a week of dates in Hungary.

Hailed by Jazzwise as 'one to watch out for' (read the full review in the blog above), Elastic Axis perform with 'youthful exuberance' (Gary Crosby on theJazz) and, according to Ralph Salmins (also on theJazz), are 'going into some pretty heavyweight departments of music'. Nice one Ralph!
