Circle of Madness Poem
Time was unforgiving
Pushing up against the door.
Maturity was knocking
But I didn't answer.
But then it was all consuming.
Very few can wake up,
Even less escape it.
Makes me wonder
How I broke it..
The Circle of my Madness
I was deaf to any advice
I was blind to the obvious
Isolation was my worst enemy
But his best friend
Lack of confidence
Fueled my misery
Intoxicated with promises of change
That evaporated as soon as they were spoken
And kept me inebriated
In a stupor of false hopes
Obsession plagued his sanity
Assaulting me with his fury of love
Violently pounding me with his passion
Brutally adorning my skin
With fervent hues
Sketching an ingenious portrayal
Of the taming of my poor heart
The exposé on my skin assaulted my eyes
Sending a tsunami of tears
Overwhelming my bruised face
Blurring the vivid colors
Blacks as dark as the abyss of his infatuation
Blues as deep as the ocean of his affections
As the bruises faded
So did the memoirs of wrath
Guilt forgave regret
Conquering over my will for change
Succumbing once again
To my Circle of Madness.
