Band Members: Akemantak, the snow shoe timber as it grouches in the cool north eastern wind. Gloriously sunny spring new green growth days rolling up from the south and long gloomy soakers rolling off the Penebscot BAy for sprouting sprouts and wells a needing replenishment. Travelers from afar that make the trek to a home on the hill. House mates who share space and love, food, ideas, sound and hands. Kettles that whistle and tea pots that steep. Skillets that frizzle. Mason jars and the water that quench thirst.
Influences: Friends Fambly Folks Along the way. The turning of the compost, the proliferation of new life.
Sustainability. New Beginnings, Spring and the Summery seasons to come. Winter mending process and internal dialogue. Collectively living. Struggle, Chance and music for social change. Neo-Traditional ballads and birdsong. Experiments in sound and song structure. The living, the dead, and those yet to be born.
Sounds Like: Mimi and Richard Farina meet the FUGS on a secret railroad that leads from the Midwest to Santa Cruz on the way to MidCoast MAINE, after a short stay in the Blue Ridge Mountains after a long jaunt through the swamps of Louisiana.
Or as Rose McBurney and ENID SNARB say "folk core."
