Hand clappin,’ finger snappin,’ dirt stompin’

About Me

This loose confederation of Athens, Georgia area musicians are most likely to be found gathered on a small farm on the edge of town, sitting in what comfortable chairs they can find, drinking beer and making simple music together. This can happen most any evening. All you need do is drive up Nowhere Road (no joke), and you’ll probably hear them yowling from the porch or rockin’ the shack, knockin’ shingles off the roof. Their heads are all swimmy with tunes and lyrics all day long and they can’t help but break it out at night, to give their new music a test drive; a virtual collaboration of clodhoppers. You can’t ever tell just what instruments might be called upon. They’re just as likely to grab somethin’ out of the kitchen or the barn to beat or strum on, as they are a real store bought instrument. Some folks say they are as entertaining to look at while performing as they are to listen to – bein’ that odd mix of a few stray coyotes, townies and aging hippies. For this reason, they are planning a few shows, hopefully by summer. They’ll be bringin’ a medicine bag full of outright, original music and one or two may be donning the warpaint. Story has it, that a couple of these roughnecks have Cherokee ancestry and that’s the excuse they use for all the drummin,’ dancin,’ and hell raisin.’ Anyway, if you’ve got the time, they got the tunes. Guaranteed toe tappin 'n booty shakin.'

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Well, Tim Carr is there most of the time, ‘cause he owns the farm where the drums set. The others wander in and out, depending on if they have to work late at a real job or have a gig with another band. Among those are the amazing Lane Miller on guitar/mandolin/or just about anything he can get his hands on; Pat Nelson on guitar/keyboards/spoons; Sache Hood frequently lendin’ a voice; and a ragtag bunch of others too numerous to name.
Influences: Frogs at the edge of the pond, crickets, chickens, goats, rain on a tin roof…

Sounds Like: Like just about everything else in life, this entirely depends on your own perspective and your needs. Some describe what these folks make as “the most sweetest music in the world,” where I’ve heard others say “it’s the awfullest racket they’ve ever heard, somethin’ akin to cuttin’ sheet metal with a circular saw.
