A refreshing new country pop artist is getting the attention of many in the music world. Her name is Kayleigh. She was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the United States.
Kayleigh does not hold back and has an inspiring combination of determination and passion that shines through in her music. She is a prolific song writer, composing both music and lyrics which highlight her very unique voice.
Kayleigh's talent was evident early on. While still in high school, she was tapped to join the Eastern Area Youth travelling chorale as a soloist. After High School she went on to attend the University Of Las Vegas in Nevada to study acting, singing and music education.
Her life took a sudden turn, leading her back to Pennsylvania where she worked and lived above a coffee shop. Here she began writing and performing her own music acoustically in that same coffee shop. Needless to say, business began to “perk up†for the proprietor of the establishment! She and many others in the small town of Clarion, PA became enthusiastic supporters of Kayleigh. This experience helped solidify Kayleigh's destiny and following her departure from Clarion University, she packed up her bags and eventually headed to the Netherlands.
New to the Netherlands, Kayleigh had to get her feet wet in the Dutch music scene. She joined a local cover band, all the while writing and working on her own material. December 2006 began with a new direction when she decided to leave the cover band and begin focusing on her own material. Not content with just biding her time, Kayleigh launched out and made the decision to work on her debut album.
Kayleigh started recording her demo in 2008 and quickly assembled a fantastic cast of well known Dutch musicians who believed in her and lend their support and cooperation. Appearing on the demo are Ariën van Weezenbeek (Epica), Daan Janzing (Kingfisher Sky, My Favorite Scar), Edo van der Kolk (The Saturnines, Kingfisher Sky) and Ward Henselmans (free-lance composer for radio and TV).
At present, Kayleigh is performing live an preparing to record her debut album. One thing is certain; Kayleigh is a young woman with a desire and determination to succeed. An engaging personality and a big dose of raw talent help complete the package.
