Band Members: Les Molaires de l'Est are Vincent Denieul, Nicolas Perret, Olivier Lapert and Cedric Anglaret all more or less living in Paris, France......
Influences: ....................................................'The eastern molars', as it is a use to say in Birmingham, weave long tone travellings from les Cévennes to Moscow crossing Burkina Faso, Nico's grandmother's kitchen, the forest, my laundry and maybe even your shower.
Unorthodoxly juggling with field recording they are often described as confectioner's custard but much better, and with candles.
It was created in February 2005 for what was to be a “one evening only sound cabinet of curiosity », part of a collective exhibition in Parisian gallery la Vitrine. As a result of it success the one night project evolved to what it is now: an improvised field recording ensemble with a special taste for strange sounds, imaginary landscapes and absurd analogies. In 2008 they played various concerts in Paris, Berlin (der Kleine Field Recording Festival), Brussels, Pornichet (Farniente Festival), Tampere and Gdansk where they recorded Imaginary Places, Gdansk their first release.
