...is an up and coming Drummer/Vocalist/Percussionists in the Sydney music scene.
Lauren started playing piano at 6 and then progressed to Drums at 8. She continues to develop and experiment with many genres of music, but her first love is Jazz!!
Besides loving performing, Lauren has completed AMEB Musicianship and AMEB in Piano as well as being a member of the Australian Youth Choir For several years.
In 2007 at age 16 she was awarded the Jann Rutherford Mentorship Award by the Sydney Improvised Music Association ( SIMA )
2008 saw her awarded the roll of Music Captain at her school which involved arranging music for instrumentalists and conducting a choir of 140 girls.
In 2008 she placed 4th in the Billy Hyde Playoffs competition, as well as attending the IAJE Jazz Camp and recieving a Certificate of Achievement from Jon Morrison, Jason Isaac and Matt Baker.
Lauren has been in many Battle of the Bands, including Tara School Battle of the Bands (winning 1st place), Rock the Block (winning 2nd place), and currently in the heats for the International competition Emergenza.
In 2009 her dream came true when she was accepted into the Sydney Conservatorium of Music to study for her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance.
Lauren has had experience in various ensembles, from playing in the Honey Makers Big Band to accompanying HSC students. She is the singer/drummer for versatile duo, the Covergirls with her sister Emily , duo Ka-Ching, and recently joined the Dirty Lindy Crew, a swing/jump-blues/jazz ensemble!!
Laurens skills are ever growing. She has been under the guidance of Andrew Dickeson, Tim Firth, Ali Foster, Ricki Augusti, Simon Cook, Gordon Rytmeister, Chris Feilds, Toby Hall, John Morrison, Jim Peisse and Merve Dick.
Lauren has had the chance to meet, learn and work with some amazing people including Kevin Hunt, Gino Pengue, Jamie Castristos, Sandy Evans, Matt Baker, Jess Green, Charmaine Ford and Emanuel Schmidt.
