Bio:
At the age of just 7 years, and after months of saving money, Steve went down to the local record store to buy his first CD: an Elvis Presley compilation album. After going through his parents' record collection he found this to be the music he connected with most. It wasn't until more than ten years later when he found out where this connection with Elvis' music came from after he started listening to people like Freddie King, Muddy Waters and R.J. Mischo; it was the blues which attracted him to this music.
Steve picked up the guitar while in his late teens and in just a couple of years he was playing on blues festivals and clubs around the country with his first band called Black Apple. After a short stint with blues/rock band The Doubleshots he joined The Backbones at the end of 2003. This proved to be a successful move, within a year and a half Steve has played with some of the best blues artists in the country as well as internationally known artists such as Monster Mike Welch, Hook Herrera, Julian Vaughan, Matt Schofield, Mitch Kashmar, Sax Gordon, Boyd Small, a.o.
Early 2006 saw the start of his new band, Little Steve & the Big Beat, in which he takes up the role of bandleader as well as leadsinger for the first time.
