BIO Jan 2008
DAVID SNEDDON
_ songwriter, singer, musician...
his songs touch the soul, are full of beauty, and miraculous melodies
David is a writer of timeless and unique songs. His songs are songs within songs: they express raw emotions, wistful-toned, thought provoking introspection. There is something very poignant and heart-breakingly real in David's voice. He can soar and whisper, turn ballads into blues and transcend genre. His music is immediately accessible, full of dramatic shades of light and dark, with soulful highs and dreamy long late nights.
David draws on a range of influences for his music from classic pop to soul, folk and rock. And you can hear the effect on the range and tone of his vocals and in his songs. David, piano and his voice moves with soul and energy. At times he throws his head back and his playing is as mesmerizing as his voice and songs. David's music draws inspiration from 60s melodic pop, but with a very unique voice.

::DAVID’S SONGWRITING: -
David’s musical directions have taken him from the pop of Elton and Robbie, the rock of the Killers and Franz Ferdinand, to singer songwriters such as Richard Ashcroft, John Mayer and Dylan.
David had written successfully for some top talent – soulful Nate James (think Stevie Wonder) and international hit ‘The Message.’ Nate James is now on the third album, with considerable success and hits on the worldwide stage. He keeps his music closely to the classic soul vibes of Motown. The young talent of Julian Perretta who toured with Mark Ronson in 2008 and Girls Aloud in 2009. Julian’s music is sophisticated pop, blending classic sounds such as T Rex, Steely Dan and Motown and giving them new directions. Think upbeat Jamiroquai and power pop sounds.
In 2008 David has been writing with singer songwriter Dave Gibson who states Radiohead as an influence. His songs have the big sounds of rock and soul yet keeping the singer songwriter intimacy. All these artists are taking music in exciting new directions. He writes with producer and writer James Bauer Mein. Check the writing collaborations of Mein and Sneddon on Jay’s myspace - the big rock sound of ‘Barricades’ and the haunting ‘Sirens’ and on EMI's myspace page.
